Laying and maintenance Laying

Laying of the product is one of the most delicate stages. Careful laying must only be carried out on a surface that has all the necessary characteristics for ensuring good results: the right level of humidity, compatible thickness of the screed and a smooth, even surface. This must then be followed by a skilled job done by a professional layer to give the best results. Accurate cutting, precision details, the use of the correct products for assembly - these are just some of the numerous aspects of this job, which calls for craftsmanship know-how and respect for materials.

Ordinary maintenance of the wood is easy, fast and calls for no complicated activities: simply clean with a delicate detergent and soft cloth. Do not use alcohol-based or aggressive detergents as they might harm the wood. Just as important is the use of soft pads under furniture, chairs and anything else resting on the floor.

For special maintenance, our consultants will explain the most suitable kind of treatment depending on the condition of your floor, advising you as to the opportunity of sanding and discussing the option of less invasive solutions. All these treatments must however be carried out by experts, with good knowledge of the kind of wood and maintenance techniques necessary.

We have chosen BONA® products for daily cleaning and care of wood. We recommend these products not only for their quality, but also because they have been specifically studied for the BONA® varnishes we use on our products. BONA® Lifetime Support is the care and maintenance programme for wooden floors fine-tuned by BONA®. Conceived as a three-stage system, each one relative to a particular condition of the wood, BONA® Lifetime Support guarantees duration and beauty of the wood over time, with specific products at the right price. The first stage is for new or recently laid floors and consists of simple cleaning but with products studied specifically for wood, enriched with protective ingredients. The second stage is for floors that are starting to show signs of age, with small scratches and less shine. This treatment uses products with specific slightly abrasive ingredients. The third stage begins when total re-sanding of the wood becomes necessary. Even in the latter case, the BONA® Lifetime Support programme offers the best kind of products and accessories.
